Philo Sophie takes its name from the word philosophia, love of wisdom.

Our brand is rooted in love: love of thought, love of craft, love of the everday. Founded by two women who studied art history and philosophy, Philo Sophie marries aesthetic beauty with intellectual curiosity. Look at the world around us. What gives these object their character? How can it be reinterpreted as something beautiful? 

Each piece is inspired by objects of daily life, reimagined as bags that are elegant and expressive. We believe beauty is not rare, but found in the forms we live with every day, once we learn how to see.
